Life in Stereo by Lo Siento

Interesting typographical design. The wood grain really contrasts with the bright plastic like colors in the letter forms. The type is clear but still interesting.

The Art of Immersion Book Cover

The art of immersion has a simple book cover with basic line art creating a negative space profile of a person in the middle drawing the eye toward it. The information that's necessary is accessible with the eye and the title being in the middle holds the readers attention.

Redisgn the Web Cover

I like the colors on this book cover. They flow well and get the point across. The s leads the eye to the title well and is not to over baring. The color choice is good with some colors countering each other. The subtitle get somewhat lost in the s

Evian Water Bottle

One of the classiest water bottle designs, evian water stands out on store shelves as high end water bottle. The use of red helps it stand out as red is not often associated with water. The illustated watercolor designed mountains is clean while the style of the bottle mimics the design utilizing the theme of mountains. The text is really well tracked out and minimal.

Voss Water Bottle

Voss water is one of the most recognizable water bottle designs out there. One of the reasons for this is the bottle itself. it has a different style that stands out on shelves. Its cylindrical shape is utilized with the use of vertical typeface with the logo and the information horizontally between the letters. Great recognizable water bottle design

This Bright River Cover

This cover has an astounding color palette creat4ed by the photo. The use of space in the photo is well utilized and the text is very clean and simple and placed so well. The imagery is well connected to the title of the book and creates a vivid after image.

War and Peace Cover

Interesting cover. it says a lot through the words but the title is missing and only exists on the spine. The red on white and the white on read is very strong but it's to broad and doesn't really tell the title or the author. It is striking and appealing from a distance though. The red in the piping is striking and is a nice use of combining the front and back in conjunction with the front.

Eating Animals Book Cover

Clever idea using the texts as fat streaks in the meat. it pertains well with the subject of the book itself. However it reads as one continuous line words instead of title then author. There needs to be more space between the two. The red and white color scheme is striking and effective and can be read from far away.

Beat Poet Covers

This set of book covers piqued my interest. I like the cconsistency of the series. The common element is the wispy typeface and minimal negative space portraits of the authors. The minimalist tenedencies work effectively to convey the messages of the novels. The scripted font supports the stylistic approach. The words outlining the poet's faces are rather unnecessary and don't really add or subtract from the design.

Making Short Films Cover

This book cover is attractive to look at but falls short in some places. For example, the k is a big hard to read. I like the negative space created by the letters and various shapes. The colors are a bit bland and seem to be randomly chosen and the subject matter really doesn't relate to the cover of the book. The shapes inside the o and the r do complete the letters and are very important into understanding what the letters are.

Edmonton Folk Music Festival Poster

The colors of the circles are eye catching. The varying opacities create a lot of visual weight. It distracts from the words and makes it way too imbalanced. It seems like the illustrations and the words are separate. If the type was better incorporated into the design i fell it would be more effective.
